North Bay, proximity to the famed Dionne babies has resulted in this city being during the past summer a mecca for tourists from all parts of the continent and many countries of the world.

The estimate that at least 500,000 persons would view the famous infants this summer has been exceeded. It is believed by those familiar with and close to the tourist influx.

Throughout the summer Main street was lined with cars bearing strange license plates, and a startling indication of the wide representation was given this week by E. F. Dilley. Ellwood. Pa, a visitor who, out of curiosity spent 25 minutes checking foreign automobiles as they rolled along Main street. In that short time no fewer than 84 United Sates cars passed the spot where he was standing, and their license plates represented 26 states of the union.

World Representation

Every province in the Dominion of Canada has been represent as well and Newfoundland. Visitors have been here this summer from countries such as New Zealand, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, China, South Africa, Cuba, Mexico and South America.

Instead of counting registrations at the tourist information bureau by the forties or fifties, this summer they were reckoned in the hundreds daily, as party after party registered. There is a probability. The Nugget learned today, that the tourist bureau will be kept open until well into the winter. It has not been decided by the Board of Trade when not close the depot.
