QUINTS’ FILM SETS ATTENDANCE RECORD
More Than 5,500 Patrons See “The Country Doctor” at Capitol Theatre
Establishing a new house record for attendance “The Country Doctor” was viewed by more than 5,500 patrons in the three-day run at the Capitol Theatre, Manager Jack Nelson announced today.
To accommodate the crowds which endeavored to gain entrance Saturday, two afternoon matinees were presented. The regular three shows a-day programs was in effect for Thursday, and Friday. Saturday morning a special children’s matinee drew about 1,000 youngsters.
The starring debut of the Dionne quints brought larger crowds than any other picture ever shown. In North Bay, the seating capacity of the theatre is 1,433.
